I was selected as the lead designer to deliver a Pride 2023 themed window display for all Urban Outfitters (UO) stores across Europe. My approach to this theme was to first analyse the meaning of Pride. I realised that it is all about freedom of expression, loving yourself, being unapologetic and not being afraid to coming out and live your true life. for the logo I decided to empasise the word OUT from the Urban Outfitters logo because I wanted to express the sense of freedom. I then added rainbow flag colours inside the word (Out) to make the concept stronger and clearer. Each symbol reflects themes of identity, love, and self-expression, from Gluck's passion for flowers and the green carnation's historic link to queer identity, to emblems of individuality like the eccentric shoe, peacock feather, eye with makeup, and the rainbow celebrating diversity and pride. For the window installation, keeping in mind the brand message for diversity and inclusion, I designed these characters trying to communicate the message of feeling happy, confident in your skin no matter who you are.
